Mid June garden update
A quick and mostly visual June garden update today. Everything is growing well, really well. Most of the things are growing much better than last year. It’s interesting to compare. Have a look at the blogpost I wrote exactly a year ago. It’s also astonishing to see what happened in a month time in the garden. Have a look at this garden update I wrote a month ago in May and compare the borage, or the greenhouse plants, or the black berries.
If you walk around in your veggie garden daily, you almost forget that things are growing. I’m therefore really enjoying typing out these updates. I can now look back and see what has happened. Keeps me more patient I think.
I also made a little list of things that are growing better and worse compared to last year:
Things that are growing better (or earlier) this year: tomatoes, cabbages, small fruit, peppers, herbs, pumpkins, onions, kale & courgettes. Things that were growing better last year: cherries!, corn (although we didn’t have a good crop in the end), dwarf beans, Chinese cabbage & beetroot.
Things that are bugging me in the garden this time of the year: ants + plant louse.
How are your gardens going?
